is a place for every bear hunter, this organization is committed to Pennsylvania Bear Hunting. We offer the opportunity to hunt, meet other bear hunters,  and experience bear hunting in PA. The difference in hunting PA Black Bear is we don't hunt over bait and we don't with hounds. We hunt as a group, this is the most effective and efficient way to hunt black bear in PA. We at Cherry Gap Bear Hunting Club have a personal passion and connection to the outdoors. This clubs goal is to strengthen bear hunters in Pennsylvania for the future so that more black bear hunters will be able to take to the woods in pursuit of "the black ghost of the forest." This is what makes me tick as a woodsman and outdoorsman. My earliest memories are of boy hood hunts on a farm I grew up on in PA. These backwoods provided the solid foundation of my passion for black bear hunting. In 1987 I harvested my first black bear and since then I've been hooked. Being a self-taught bear hunter, growing up on a small farm in Bellwood, PA, and my family owning a deer processing business has honed my passion for the outdoors. But ever since I can remember I have been hunting with friends and family. I have harvested many great whitetails and several black bears and in doing so I have developed an incredible desire to share my passion for the outdoors with others. My passion finally led me to form Cherry Gap Bear Hunting Club in 2000, and it has become a labor of love for me to build a bear hunting club right in the heart of Central PA. Cherry Gap Bear Hunting Club is completely FREE to join and hunt with us. All we ask is you buy your bear hunting liscense, so that you can connect with fellow bear hunters on the quest for the black ghost. We have been very successful since 2000, we do our homework in the pre-season with a lot of scouting and trail-cameras trying to gather all the information we can on our hunting areas so we can use different strategies depending on that area to be successful. But above all we like to keep it fun and keep it real. Celebrating the hunt for the black ghost of the forest is just as important to us as harvesting a black bear. It is important from us that you take home the message that regardless of whether you harvest a bear we are passing down a legacy for generation to generation to keep the proud tradition of PA Black Bear hunting alive for years to come, build a brotherhood, and a strengthen a great hunting club.
